Who we are
Anvil Solutions Ltd (NZBN 9429036536214) is a Technology Solutions Provider based in Auckland, New Zealand. For anything in this statement, contact us at support@anvil.net.nz, on 09 579 5432, or by post at PO Box 5702, Wellesley St, Auckland.
What we collect and why
Contact form and enquiries. When you use the form on our contact page, email us or call us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company and the content of your message. We use these only to reply to you and, if you become a client, to set up and deliver the services you ask for. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sends technical information about your browser to Google to detect automated abuse; Google's privacy policy applies to that check.
Client services. When we look after your organisation's technology, we hold the business contact details of the people we deal with, and we process the information held in the systems we support (for example Microsoft 365 accounts and devices) on your organisation's instructions. Your organisation remains the agency responsible for that information; we act on its behalf.
Remote support and the support agent. If we help you through a remote session, the session runs through a third-party remote-support service and ends when we disconnect. If we ask you to install the Anvil support agent on a business device, it reports device details (such as hardware, installed software, patch state and the signed-in user name) to our management system so we can patch, monitor and support the device. We only ask for the agent on devices your organisation owns or is authorised to manage, and it should only be installed when we have asked you to.
Security monitoring. Where your organisation subscribes to managed detection and response, security telemetry from your devices and cloud accounts is processed by Bitdefender, whose security operations centre investigates and responds to threats under Bitdefender's own privacy terms and our agreement with your organisation.
Newsletters. We send occasional newsletters to clients and contacts we have an existing relationship with. Every one includes a way to opt out, and you can also ask us to stop at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or social media pixels on this website. The only third-party script on the site is Google reCAPTCHA, loaded on the contact page.
Who we share it with
Personal information is shared only where needed to deliver our services: with the software and platform providers we use to run our own business (including Microsoft 365 for email and documents, our remote-support and device-management providers, and our accounting and ticketing systems), with vendors whose products your organisation has asked us to supply, and where the law requires it. Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, chiefly in Australia, the United States and the European Union, under contracts that require them to protect it to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act.
How we protect it
We apply the same controls we ask our clients to adopt: multi-factor authentication on every account, managed and monitored devices, encrypted storage, and access limited to the people who need it. If we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as the Privacy Act requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for as long as we may need them to pick up the conversation again. Client records are kept for the life of the relationship and for at least seven years afterwards to meet tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you and ask us to delete anything we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct it. Email support@anvil.net.nz and we will respond within 20 working days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes
We will update this statement when our practices change and show the date at the top. Continued use of the site or our services after a change means the updated statement applies.
