About Anvil Solutions

From firewalls and file servers to a full technology partner
Ashley started Anvil with his father, Brian, who had sound technology and business experience as founder of optometry software company Computech Systems. Ashley initially trained as a chef, but always harboured a deep interest in information technology from a young age — he took a short-term job at a software company in the late '90s and never looked back.
Initially, when founded in 2002, Anvil concentrated on supplying firewalls and open-source file servers, alongside remote access systems built on the growing use of broadband in NZ.
It soon became clear that many small to medium businesses needed much more than that, and they were asking for help — advice on the best hardware, systems and networks, the appropriate software for their needs, and swift support when things go wrong. In response to client demand, Anvil expanded services to become a support provider too.
Anvil still serves many original customers from the early 2000s, along with a growing portfolio of clients — from small, single offices, to ventures with offices across multiple sites. Today Anvil is a team of 6 forming a boutique TSP ready to assist with a broad range of Microsoft 365 cloud services, Bitdefender MDR security services, general IT support and more.
